My Sculpting Blog

If you are interested in seeing the process I use when sculpting you can check out my sculpting blog called Sunflower House Art. I haven't really promoted it, until recently my posting has been very sporadic. My goal for 2014 is to post there at least once a month and so far I've managed to meet that goal! I'll be posting more often over the next couple of weeks as I work on my creation for the Zombies in the Nursery swap being hosted by Val over at Yarnigras Swapper Spot.

I'll also post a couple of progress pictures here but the more in depth photos will be on the above blog.

I have several posts in the works for Beneath the Witch's Moon! I am so excited about the next Artsy Monday post which is slated for Monday, May 5th  May 12th (been busy but good weekend). If you've ever seen the wire wrapped pendants that are all the rage you'll want to stop by. They are pretty quick and easy to make and the looks you can create are endless!

Witchy Green Wednesday returns on  May 21th with an easy to make herbal tub tea. and hopefully I'll be getting back to the Pagan Blog Project May 9th. April was a rough month and I look forward to getting back into the blogging world.

Here is a Magical Herb Sneak Peek

Greetings everyone,

I am so excited to share with you some of the magical herbs that will be added to my Etsy Shop this week. I'll be selling a variety of magical herbs/spices/botanicals by the ounce. Right now I have the following 6 almost ready to list:

Fenugreek Seed - Ritual Power: Money

Cut Ginger Root - Ritual Powers: Love, Money, Success and Power

Poppy Seed - Ritual Powers: Love, Fertility, Money, Luck, Sleep and Invisibility

RoseHips - Ritual Powers: Love, Relationships, Companionship and Peace

Star Anise - Ritual Powers: Psychic Powers and Luck

St. John's Wort - Ritual Powers: Health, Protection, Strength, Love,
Divination and Happiness

I anticipate that they will be live in the shop tonight. These are part of the wonderful selection of herbs, spices and botanicals that I purchased on my trip to San Francisco this month. Right now my studio smells amazing though it is currently the poster child for chaos!

Once I finalize these listings I'll be working on the next batch which includes catnip, wormwood, pennyroyale, whitewillow bark, calendula, lavender, hibiscus flowers and rosepetals/buds.

My kitty has been hanging out near the cat nip bag, she keeps waiting for me to put some in a toy for her. She is 16 and turns into a kitten when I give her catnip filled toys, so that is on the agenda as well and soon!

This is a cross post with my Beneath The Witch's Moon Etsy Shop blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Zombies in the Nursery - a Handmade Zombie Doll Swap Hosted by Yarnigras Swapper Spot

I just joined the Zombies in the Nursery swap being hosted by Val over at Yarnigras Swapper Spot. I am so excited to be participating in this swap. Val's swaps always challenge me artistically and are so much fun. If you have never participated in one of her swaps you really should check out her site.

Here are the Hatter in Zombieland and Zombie Red Riding Hood which I made for previous Zombie doll swaps hosted by Val. I can't wait to get started.

Hope to see you there!!

I'm Back!

The View from outside Cliff House, San Francisco

Above are a couple of pictures from my weekend trip to San Francisco - more to come soon. My wonderful guy and I went there to celebrate my birthday and for a fabulous botanical buying trip! I got to visit the beach and while it wasn't the Atlantic of my youth it was lovely all the same.

After 3 weeks on the mend and a much needed weekend away I am happy to say that I am finally feeling better and will be back to my regularly scheduled posts beginning in May - why May - well, here is what I have discovered - April is the busiest month of the year at both my day job (I'll be traveling to Las Vegas for work this weekend) and at home (My birthday plus numerous Friends and Relatives Birthdays and this year my baby got his driver's license!) and as much as I want to post I just can't do it properly. So rather than trying to rush posts and run the risk of them being sloppy, I am choosing to take a breather and wait until the dust settles to begin my regular posts again.

Soon I will be posting about my recent herb/botanical buying expedition to San Francisco. I am so excited about these new items which I'll be stocking in my Etsy shop beginning in May!!! I can't wait to share all the fun I'm having with them. With the addition of all the great herbs/spices and botanicals in my studio I had to make a beautiful batch of bath salts - which I'll be sharing the how to's for on an upcoming Witchy Green Wednesday. These bath salts are quick and easy to make, smell wonderful, leave your skin soft and they are so pretty to look at.

Coming the first week of May I'll be posting an easy Wire Wrapped Pendant technique on Artsy Monday and I'll be updating you with some of the progress I've made on some of my works in progress that I've had laying aroung the studio. I have so much I want to share and soon I'll have the time to do it!

I miss you all and will be posting soon! Thanks for stopping by!

On the Mend

I am slowly healing!

Thanks to everyone who has sent me healthy thought and prayers. I am on the mend after a week of ICK! I am almost over the spring cold I came down with last week (probably caught it while sitting in the DR.'s waiting room LOL) and my leg is still achy but much better than it was. I've been resting it (no working out!!!) and taking the prescription that I was given.

If it is still hurting after I complete the medicine I will find a new doctor before I have it checked out, one whose philosophies are more inline with my own. I don't want to be given medication to treat a problem without knowing the cause of the problem! today I am hopeful that I am on the mend.

I will begin to look for a new physician immediately so that next time I have a problem I have someone to go to.

I should be back to posting this weekend!
