Alice in Wonderland Project- Update

This weekend was spent on my Alice in Wonderland sculpting project. She has definitely been a learning experience for me and she still needs a lot of work! The picture above is my inspiration photo. I  like the pose that Alice is in and since I will also be including the white rabbit and the flowers with faces in my scene it was the perfect picture for me to look at while sculpting.

Here she is with her base clay. This gives her a bit more support than if I were to sculpt the entire body at once.

This is where I am now. While she isn't even close to perfect, I am pleased with how she is turning out. This week I will work on her hands and feet and then on painting  her skin and eyes. I have never sculpted a full body before and I obviously have a long way to go but I am learning and since she will be costumed I am very happy with how she is turning out. She does have a pretty bad crack at the top of her thighs. I will be fixing this when I attach her hands and feet. Next time I do a full body sculpt I am going to work on a smaller scale!

Here are a few a few items I created for the scene. The bottle will be filled with a resin "liquid" and placed at Alice's feet and the white rabbit (to be sculpted soon) will be holding one of the pocket watches. I'll also be sculpting some faces for the flowers that will be attached to the wood burl.

I'll post more pictures as I go.

  5. My goodness, witchy woman, this is wonderful. I love that I can see the pose already, even if she has not face or clothes.

It will be wonderful to see her when she is complete.
